Junior Development Squad PDF Print E-mail

This term we are trialing our very own Development Squad for up and coming juniors. Hopefully this is a success and we can continue to push our athletes in the future.

If the trial is successful we will be running a group each term that we have coaching. The group includes four dedicated and hardworking athletes who are eager to improve and the club provides them with a top coach and gym membership to assist with there training. In return the club asks athletes to participate in tournaments and competitions to represent the club and put into practice the skills being learnt in there weekly sessions.

Athletes are chosen not only for there squash ability but also there attitude on and off the court as well as dedication to the sport.

We would like to congratulate our first four athletes for being chosen.

  • Sarah Summerscales
  • Ryan Montgomery
  • Kees van Lieshout
  • Jacob Sims-Dummett

Junior Interclub (JETS) PDF Print E-mail

The Junior interclub tournament (JETS) is an annual club competition played in term’s 2, 3 and 4 between club  J grade junior players.

•    Clubs are split into zones i.e. North, South/East, West, and Central.
•     Games are played on a Sunday morning between clubs competing in their respective zones.
•    All clubs competing in their respective zone play their games at the same venue each week.
•    In the past, 5 clubs have competed in the southern zone competition, namely Papakura, Franklin, Howick, Maramarua and Waiuku.
•    Last year the Southern zone  also ran a junior  F grade competition alongside the J grade event.
•    All results are submitted to Squash Auckland for entry on to the SNZ grading list. This may change with the introduction of the new SNZ IT platform allowing players/clubs online access to the submission of game results.
